What’s in the box
The mouse comes in a black cardboard box having all the specs and features printed right on the box. In the box, you get Venus Pro wireless gaming mouse, braided USB Type-A to USB Type-C charging cable, USB Driver Downloader, carrying pouch, and gliding tapes. The 2.4Ghz Wireless USB receiver was placed at the back of the mouse in its dedicated compartment. Considering the price of the mouse, it is pretty impressive packaging and content in the box.
Design
At the first glance, you see a lot of buttons on the mouse. There are 16 programmable buttons on this mouse and it feels overwhelming. There are 2 DPI changing buttons at the top, a button in the scroll wheel, an extra fire button with the left button, and 12 buttons at the left of the mouse. All the buttons are fully programmable using UtechSmart software. At the front, you will also see a USB Type-C port for charging the mouse and to use it in wired mode.
At the back, you will see an optical sensor, a profile switch to change the polling rate between 125hz to 1000hz and a USB receiver compartment. You can place the USB receiver in the compartment while carrying the mouse in the backpack or when the mouse is not in use. There are total 4 gliders that make it easy to move the mouse on any surface. For best performance, a good mouse pad is always recommended.
If you like RGB, you will definitely be going to love this mouse. There are a lot of RGBs on the mouse and the good thing is, you can turn off RGB using an On/Off button at the back of the mouse. Using the software, you can even customize the RGB which, to me, is a pretty impressive feature in this price range.
Not just that, Venus Pro also passes my ergonomics test. You will not feel any kind of discomfort while using the mouse. The 2 main buttons have a slight bump in the size of fingers that makes it comfortable to click and use. At the side, you will also see an extra slide out to place your thumb and to give a comfortable experience while clicking the side buttons.
The weight of the mouse is 170gm which is 2x of my Logitech mouse but it is totally acceptable. Also, there are no weight adjustments in the mouse.
Overall, the design of UtechSmart Venus Pro is pretty impressive and I didn’t find any bad design element that can affect my gaming experience.

Build Quality & Sound Test
Talking about build quality, it is definitely not bad. The plastic doesn’t feel cheap at all. There is no flex in the plastic or rattling sound when you put pressure on it for clicking the different buttons. The matte black finish looks super good and you will also see the angular glossy part on the mouse that gives it a good design element. The USB Type-C to Type-A cable is a braided cable. The build quality of the cable feels durable and it is long enough.
The click sound is quiet. Here is the quick click sound test video you can watch to the idea of click sound.
Performance
Now let’s talk about the performance. UtechSmart Venus Pro comes with a custom PixArt PMW3335 optical sensor that offers you 5DPI levels up to 16,000DPI and a 1000hz Polling rate. In real life scenario, the performance of Venus Pro is very impressive. Whether it is gaming or casual surfing, Venus Pro works excellently in every case.
Note: Wrist rest is not included in the box.
You can easily switch the DPI using the dedicated buttons and for the Polling rate, there is a dedicated button at the back. You can also adjust the DPI and Polling rate using the software. The response time of Venus Pro is super fast.

The 2.5Ghz Wireless dongle gives a reliable, strong connection and there are no issues at all while using the mouse. Within the 10m range, you will not feel any kind of latency which is an important thing while gaming. No one wants latency in the mouse and UtechSmart has done a brilliant job here.
One thing that is worth mentioning here is, you have to spend a significant amount of time learning all the functionalities of this mouse but once you get used to it, you will get to know the superpowers it has. For this price, the whole experience is impressive.

RGB
This section is entirely for those who love RGB lighting on their desk. First of all, there is a lot of RGB lighting on Venus Pro and you can also turn it off using a dedicated button at the back of the mouse. Using the software, you can switch up to 16 million colors that suit best for your desk setup. The logo on the mouse comes with some lighting effects which is customizable.
Overall speaking, the team of UtechSmart has given significant time to tune the RGBs on their mouse and provide RGB customization which is a good thing to have.
Battery
UtechSmart Venus Pro wireless gaming mouse comes with a 1000mAh battery that takes around 2 hours from 0% to 100%. With a single charge, I was able to get around 2-3 days of battery with moderate gaming and casual surfing. The Venus Pro also comes with the auto sleeping mode in which the mouse automatically turned off if not used for 2 minutes.
The moment you move your mouse, it came back to life. It also comes with a low consumption mode which lowers the polling rate to save a little battery. The whole purpose of these modes is to save battery. Venus Pro wireless mouse can be recharged using USB Type-C to USB Type-A cable.
You can also use the mouse in wired mode if you like. To be honest, I didn’t use the mouse in the wired mode because I don’t like cables on my desk but I am sure you will get better battery backup in wired mode. For uninterrupted gaming sessions, the software also shows you the battery level so that you can timely charge it before your gaming session.

UtechSmart Venus Pro Software
In the box, you also get a USB drive kind of thing that you need to plug into your computer for installing UtechSmart Venus Pro wireless mouse software. The moment I plugged the USB into my computer, it ran a script and opened the Google drive folder where you will find .exe file of the software. You just need to download the .exe file and install it on your computer.
Using the software, you can literally customize every button on the mouse except the DPI button at the top middle and the profile switching button at the back. Other than these 2 buttons, you can customize everything on the mouse.
You can also change RGB lighting, mouse sensitivity, scrolling speed, double-click speed, DPI levels and polling rate.
The whole UI of the software reminds you of Windows XP days but it is super easy to use and doesn’t confuse the first-time user. If you are a Windows user, you can consider this mouse but I would not recommend this mouse to Mac users simply because there is no software for macOS. I also checked the UtechSmart website to download Venus Pro software for my Macbook but it only downloads .exe file which is only supported on Windows.

UtechSmart Venus Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse Review: Final Words
Overall speaking, Venus Pro is definitely a superb wireless gaming mouse, especially for those who are looking for an affordable gaming mouse without compromising on anything. It got everything you need in a wireless gaming mouse. You can even use this mouse in wired mode using USB Type-C to USB Type-A cable. The design is comfortable and durable, it got excellent RGB and decent-looking but easy-to-use software to customize buttons.
Considering the price tag of this mouse, I don’t think you will get better value for money other than this. The 16 buttons might look weird at first but when you start using it, you didn’t even feel like you are handling that many buttons on a single mouse.
If you have less than $50 for a wireless gaming mouse and you want multiple customizable buttons, with RGB, UtechSmart Venus Pro is an easy recommendation.
