Here are 10 Things about OnePlus 6 that you wanted to know before buying it.

10 things about OnePlus 6

1. Specifications

The OnePlus always provides the high-end specs in their smartphones and you can expect the highest configuration in OnePlus 6 as well. The OnePlus 6 runs on Snapdragon 845 Processor coupled with 6GB/8GB LPDDR4X RAM, Adreno 630 and comes in 64GB/128GB/256GB storage variant.

2. Display

The OnePlus has 2018ish design where we are getting the latest smartphone with 18:9 Aspect Ratio displays and less bezels. So, to follow the trend, OnePlus also tried to add “More Screen, Less Bezel” thing and it looks just gorgeous on the new OnePlus 6. The OnePlus 6 has 6.28-inch 19:9 Full Optic OLED display with 2280x1080p resolution. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

Everything was fine but then you see the Notch on the top. Although the notch is pretty small in size but still there is a notch on the top. I personally don’t like the “Notch Concept” and I hope this trend will fade out by the end of 2018. Google can do something exceptional with Pixel 3 (Finger-crossed).

3. Camera

OnePlus always provide an all over a great package of the smartphone in a value for money price. The camera is indeed an important component of “Great Package”. So, here is something about OnePlus 6 camera.

OnePlus has dual camera setup at the back. There is one 20MP f/1.7 Sony IMX 519 sensor and another is 16 MP f/1.7 (again) Sony IMX 376K camera sensor. There is two camera with same aperture and I am looking forward to test both the cameras. The new OnePlus 6 can also record 4K videos at 60 FPS with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) which is pretty impressive. At the front, there is 16MP front facing camera which can also capture portrait photos with Bokeh.

4. Design

The design of the new OnePlus 6 is all changed now. While comparing OnePlus 6 with OnePlus 5T, you will find some major changes in the design. First thing first, OnePlus 6 now has Glass back which looks beautiful but also a fingerprint friendly. You have to use a case but that will cover the Glass back (ughh..). Along with that, the camera set up at the back got a new place. The horizontal dual camera setup now placed in the middle just like LG phones. Below the camera setup, there is LED flash, Fingerprint scanner and OnePlus logo. The positioning of a fingerprint scanner is absolutely convenient and you will get your finger right on the scanner.

At the front, there is a beautiful display with a notch which holds the front-facing camera, few sensors, and an earpiece. The alert slider is now placed on the right.

5. Battery

The new OnePlus 6 comes with 3,300mAh battery which comes with fast charging, OnePlus says, Dash Charging. The battery of the phone depends very much on the basis of your usage but Oxygen OS is very light and very much closed to stock android. So, you will get the battery backup of One day at least.

6. Ports & Connectivity

First thing first, OnePlus 6 has a 3.5MM Jack (Yeah!!!) and you don’t need extra adapters or new wireless headphones. So, relax. Along with that, there is USB Type-C Port, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, 2 Nano SIM Slot. Like always, there is no MicroSD card slot.

7. Security

For the security of your smartphone, there is Fingerprint scanner at the back of the phone and along with that, there is Face Unlock feature in the new OnePlus 6. The face unlock is completely based on software and algorithms as unlike iPhone X, there are no fancy sensors for reading faces. The face unlocks works great and it unlocks the phone in just 0.4 seconds.

Along with that, the phone is now Water resistant which can bear the rain drops and normal water spills but don’t bring the OnePlus 6 into the pool.

8. OxygenOS

If you ask me one thing that I like in OnePlus smartphones, apart from pricing, I would say the software. I personally like Stock Android because they don’t have bloatware, no unnecessary animations and it runs smoothly. OnePlus does a great job with their Oxygen OS. Oxygen OS in OnePlus 6 is based on Android Oreo and Android P Beta is also available.

OnePlus tweaks the Stock Android with some additional features which are really useful and stay light on the phone. You can enable or disable the navigation buttons, can modify the System UI tools, you can tweak the notch settings where you can enable or disable the notch display (depends on the app), the camera App of the new OnePlus 6 is also improved and got some new features like Super Slo-Mo video.

9. Price

The price of OnePlus smartphones is increasing every year but clever OnePlus always able to convince the customer with the quality they are providing. The OnePlus 6 priced at $529 for 6GB/64GB variant, $579 for 8GB/128GB and $629 for 8GB/256GB variant. The pricing of OnePlus 6 in India starts from  ₹34,999 for 6GB/64GB and ₹39,999 for 8GB/128GB.

OnePlus also launched Marvel Avengers Special Edition OnePlus 6 which comes with 8GB RAM/256GB Storage with in-the-box Iron Man Case and other Avengers goodies. The price for Special Edition is ₹44,999.

10. Availability

The new OnePlus 6 comes in 3 colors. You can buy OnePlus 6 Matte Black, Glass Black and Shimmery White which is Glossy glass white. The OnePlus 6 would go on sale from May 22nd. If you have Amazon Prime, you can buy the OnePlus 6 on May 21 from Amazon India with some additional benefits. Stay tuned for updates.

OnePlus 6: Everything at one Place

Apart from that, OnePlus also launched OnePlus Wireless bullets which are pretty convincing product. It is almost impossible to tell anything about the sound quality but Almunium chassi and whole functionality seem really good. Y

You can charge the wireless bullets using Dash Charger or any USB Type-C charger. OnePlus also claims 5 hours of music playback by 10 Minutes of Charge. The price for OnePlus Wireless bullets set at ₹3,999.
