Motorola launched Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus & Moto G6 Play: Everything You Wanted to Know

The Moto G Series is indeed Motorola’s best seller series worldwide. The perfect blend of software, hardware and price are the pillars that made it best mid-range Android Smartphones. To keep the legacy of G series, Moto finally unveils the latest Moto G Smartphones in the G series line-up.

Motorola announced 3 Moto G smartphones named as Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus, and Moto G6 Play. The trio smartphones were announced in an event in Brazil.





To cop up the competition with other mid-range smartphones brands like Xiaomi, Honor etc. Motorola did some major design changes in G6 series. The new Moto G smartphones got thinner bezels, 18:9 display and much more. Here is everything about Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus & Moto G6 Play:

Moto G6

The Moto G6 has 5.7 inches IPS LCD display having 18:9 aspect ratio with the resolution of 2160 x 1080p. The phone runs on 1.8Ghz Snapdragon 450 processor and for graphics, it has Adreno 506 GPU. Moto G6 comes with the RAM & storage options of 3GB & 32GB and 4GB & 64GB. The Moto G6 now comes with USB Type-C port and also a 3.5mm jack. The 3000mAh battery is good enough for one day backup on not-so-heavy usage. Out of the box, the phone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo.

For optics, The G6 has dual camera setup with 12MP & 5MP PDAF sensor with f/1.7 aperture which is capable to capture portrait shots and for selfies, there is 8MP front-facing camera. Like Moto G5, this time also, there is a fingerprint sensor at the front which also works as a navigation button, giving you more space on the screen. Apart from Finger-print sensor, there is also face unlock feature which is software based as there is no dedicated hardware for face recognition. The price for Moto G6 starts from $249.

Moto G6 Plus

As the variant name suggests, G6 Plus is slightly better Moto G6 phone among 3 of them. The Moto G6 Plus runs on 2.2Ghz Snapdragon 630 Processor and Adreno 508 for processing graphics. Like G6, you will get 3GB + 32GB & 4GB + 64GB variant options. The display of Moto G6 Plus is slightly larger than G6. The G6 Plus has 5.9 inches IPS LCD Display with 18:9 Aspect Ratio and have the same resolution as G6 which is 2160 x 1080p.

You will get the same camera & other features as in Moto G6 but G6 Plus has 3200mAH battery which is, like always, non-replaceable.

Moto G6 Play

The Moto G6 Play is the lower end smartphone among 3 of them and it is coupled with not that powerful specs sheet. Talking about the heart of smartphone, Moto G6 Play comes with Snapdragon 427 processor with a 1.4 GHz quad-core CPU and Adreno 308 GPU. You will get 2GB + 16GB or 3GB + 32GB variant options for RAM and Internal storage. The 16GB variant is not enough for anyone these days, so considering 32GB variant would be a smart move.

For optics, the G6 Play has 13MP PDAF camera sensor with f/2.0 Aperture. You will not get dual cameras setup in the Moto G6 Play. For selfies, there is a 5 MP camera. Moreover, you will get Micro USB port for charging and connecting and there is 3.5MM jack on the Moto G6 Play. For security, there is a fingerprint sensor but there is no face recognition in the Moto G6 Play. Among all of the Moto G6 phones, the G6 Play has massive 4000mAh battery which is pretty solid. The price for Moto g6 Play starts from $199.




The Moto smartphones are very popular and they are indeed the value for money Android smartphones by Motorola. The design and hardware you get in the price is absolutely satisfactory. The Moto G6 lineup is the better version of Moto G series. With 18:9 Aspect Ratio and thin bezels, there is now better entertainment and gaming experience. Moreover, the Dolby Audio on the Moto smartphones also enhances the experience. The new curved Gorilla Glass also added some really great design aesthetics to the mid-range Android smartphones.
